Privacy policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what the scubrain.com website does with your personal data. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for visitors from the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
In short: we collect the bare minimum. No advertising, no audience measurement, no tracking cookie. Your e-mail address is only used to send you news about Scubrain, and only once you have confirmed it.
This website has no technical link with the Scubrain app: signing up to the newsletter does not create an account in the app. The app will have its own privacy policy.

What data, why, and on what basis
When you visit the site
As for any website, our host Cloudflare receives your IP address and technical information (browser, system, requested page, date and time). It needs them to show you the pages and protect the site against attacks. We do not use this data to track you or to measure audience.
Legal basis (GDPR): our legitimate interest in running a secure website (art. 6(1)(f)).
When you sign up to the newsletter
Data: your e-mail address, the language of the page you signed up on and, if you ticked the box, your wish to test the app before release (beta). Brevo also records the date and IP address of your confirmation, as proof of your consent.
Double opt-in: you first receive a confirmation e-mail. Until you click its link, your address is not added to our list and receives no other e-mail.
Use: to announce the launch of Scubrain, send you project news from time to time and, if you asked for it, invite you to the beta. Nothing else: your address is never sold, rented or shared. We do not measure whether you open our e-mails or click their links.
Legal basis (GDPR): your consent (art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time, in one click, with the unsubscribe link in every e-mail, or by writing to us.
If you are under 16, ask a parent for permission before signing up.
When you write to us
If you write to contact@scubrain.com, we use your address and message to reply. Legal basis (GDPR): our legitimate interest in answering your questions (art. 6(1)(f)).
Our providers
We entrust some tasks to providers, bound by a contract that protects your data:
| Provider | Role | Where the data is |
|---|---|---|
| Brevo (Sendinblue SAS), Paris, France | Newsletter list, sending e-mails | European Union |
| Cloudflare, Inc., San Francisco, United States | Hosting the site, receiving the form | Global network, head office in the United States |
| Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva, Switzerland | Project mailbox | Switzerland |
Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its Swiss extension, which the European Union and Switzerland recognise as providing adequate protection. Its contracts also include the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep your data
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. After that, your address is only kept marked as unsubscribed at Brevo, so that it never receives our e-mails again.
- Beta: until the end of the beta; after that, only your newsletter subscription remains.
- E-mails you send us: as long as needed to reply, then two years at most.
- Technical data at Cloudflare: a few hours to a few days, under its security rules.
Your rights
At any time, you can:
- find out what data we hold about you and get a copy;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- object to its processing or ask for it to be restricted;
- receive your data in a common format (portability);
- withdraw your consent, without affecting what was done before.
Write to us at contact@scubrain.com: we answer within 30 days.
You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch), or to the data protection authority of your country in the European Union.
Security
The site is only served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). It does not store any personal data itself: the form sends your address straight to Brevo.
Changes
We may update this policy, for example when the app launches. The date of the latest version is shown at the top of the page.
